 2023 Holy Communion Preparation 

Congratulations on starting your journey to receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion. We are so happy to share this special time with you! 

Mandatory first class for both children and parents followed by registration will take place on: 

Friday, October 14, 2022 @ 6:00pm OR Saturday, October 15, 2022 @ 10:00am 

Please be sure to bring the completed form (a pdf copy can be found at the bottom of this page), a copy of the candidate's Baptismal Certificate as well as the suggested donation of $50, which covers the cost of supplies as well as a donation to the church. Registration will take place after the class.

Program Outline: 

  • We encourage you to do your best to attend Sunday Mass as a family as well as monthly Confession 
  • At registration, you will be given a book along with some assigned work, we ask you help your child work on this a little each week 
  • In addition, we have an online portion to our program. Using Formed.org, you and your child are asked to watch the two series listed below. We welcome parents to explore the website as well!

  • Saturday, November 26, 2022 @ 11:00am OR 1:00pm – There will be a tour of the church for the First Communicants and families
  • Saturday, March 18, 2023 @ 11:00am OR 1:00pm – Mandatory in class preparation for both First Communicants and parents, on how to go to Confession and how to receive First Holy Communion. 

All at home and online preparation should be completed by this date. 

  • Saturday, March 25, 2023 @ 1:00pm – Children are invited to come see Fr. Jim for their First Confession. 

 

Finally, parents often feel ill-equipped to help form children in the Sacraments. Each Tuesday at 7:30-8:00pm and Saturday at 9:30-10:00am you are welcome to come to church as we go through the Catechism and the YouCat; this way you can grow in confidence as an adult Catholic with all its responsibilities.
